CARD DETAILS

Where to Find the Starbucks Card Number and Security Code

Current Starbucks Cards use a 16-digit numeric card number and a separate 8-digit numeric security code.

  • On a physical card, find the 16-digit number on the back; scratch the covered area to reveal the 8-digit security code.
  • For a Starbucks eGift, open the delivery email and view the card details or add the eGift to the Starbucks app.
  • Do not enter a receipt number, Starbucks Rewards member number, order number, barcode-only value, or account verification code.

Registered cards have added protection

Starbucks says registered cards can be replaced with their remaining balance after the card is reported lost, stolen, or damaged. Unregistered card information should be treated like cash.

COMMON PROBLEMS

Starbucks Card Balance Troubleshooting

Try these Starbucks-specific checks before assuming the card has no remaining value.

The card number or security code is rejected

Enter the 16-digit card number without spaces and the separate 8-digit security code. Make sure the scratch-off area is fully visible and that no digits are missing.

The card does not appear in the app

Confirm you are signed in to the correct Starbucks Rewards account, then add the card again using the card number and security code.

The card was lost, stolen, or damaged

Contact Starbucks promptly. Starbucks says the remaining balance on a previously registered card can be frozen and transferred to a replacement card.

The balance is different than expected

Review recent transactions in card management and check the most recent receipt. Call 1-800-STARBUC if you need Starbucks to review a possible billing or transaction error.
